I grew up in Nashville, Tennessee and spent the majority of my childhood playing outside, building forts, and creating elaborate puppet shows. Early on in life, I developed an interest in computers and animation and planned to pursue a degree in animation. After marrying, we moved to Savannah, Georgia where I began my undergraduate work at the Savannah College of Art and Design. It was here in this small coastal city where I first discovered the world of design. I spent the remainder of my three years at SCAD studying Industrial Design, with an emphasis on Interaction Design. At the end of August 2006, Allison and I moved to Charleston, South Carolina where I joined the User Experience Group at BenefitFocus.com as an Interaction Designer. Much of my focus and interest as an Interaction Designer centers on contextual research and user centered design.  In addition to technology and design, I am also interested in frugality and homesteading, in particular exploring effective methods to grow fruits and vegetables at our home in order to eliminate the need to buy produce from a supermarket.
