design + life
- Back from San Francisco
Allison and I are back from an amazing vacation. That means I FINALLY had a good reason to use Animoto ! We’ll be posting all the pictures to flickr soon. For now, check out our facebook pages for highlights.
- Ink Meets Paper is Live!
Check it out Go…enjoy :)
- Opinions?
I’m reworking some of the navigation and typography on the site. Typography has always been a challenge for me so I’m sure there are things that need improvement. I haven’t been happy with the absolute positioned navigation on the left, so I worked it out horizontally instead. I’d love to hear any suggestions readers would have.
- how to see sundays (charleston harbor)
Allison, my co-worker Dustin, and I spent the afternoon and evening touring Mt. Pleasant. It’s such a beautiful place, and it’s so much bigger than Savannah! After walking through Old Town Mt. Pleasant, we drove to Pitt Street bridge. South Carolina takes such good care of their public lands. I’m sure we’ll notice what makes that possible as tax time comes around :)
As soon as I can get my new flickr export plugin registered, I’ll be uploading all the images so everyone can check them out.
- anyone out there?
I need to start writing again. If anyone reads this, come out and let me know who you are. I’d love to hear why you come to the site, and any thoughts you have for the blog. Design? Life? Complete randomness?
- Final Classes Begin
Well this is it, the last 10 weeks of my formal design education at the Savannah College of Art and Design. I’m sure I’ll have some good reflection writing about design education once all is said and done. I will be logging my final project’s process here, so subscribe to the “feed“
- How to See Sundays (Bonaventure Cemetery)
Recently, Allison and I have started spending time every Sunday afternoon to go out and take pictures. Part of the inspiration came from George Nelson’s fabulous book, How to See. DWR recently started printing the book again, and I found it quite uplifting. In short, he spends time focusing on one thing, (example: Signage) and takes only pictures relating to it. The analysis is the best part of the book, and it really helps me, as a designer, to look VERY closely when I study a subject…..but to also, step back and see the overall impact. All the images are up on my flickr site. Maybe this will be a new series. “How to See Sundays”
